Women's Hoops falls at Mesa
The #17 Scottsdale women's basketball team fell 64-46 at #13 Mesa this afternoon.
SCC is now 15-8 overall and 9-5 in the ACCAC.
The Thunderbirds outscored the Artichokes 23-9 in the opening quarter to set the tone for the game. SCC cut into the lead over the next two quarters and went into the fourth quarter down 47-37.
Scottsdale struggled from the floor, shooting 23.3% for the game. Mesa shot 37.3%. The T-birds held a 42-33 edge on the boards.
Mia Davis had 16 points to lead the Artichokes. She also had seven rebounds. Vanessa Sepulveda added 11 points, while Landin Kelley grabbed seven boards.
Scottsdale will look to return to winning form when they visit Phoenix on Wednesday, February 18. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m. The two have split their first two games this season.
