CGCC overpowers SCC Baseball
Scottsdale fell 8-1 to Chandler-Gilbert at CGCC.
SCC (29-23, 21-17) took a 1–0 lead in the first inning, but Chandler-Gilbert answered with three runs in the bottom half and never trailed again. The Coyotes added two runs in the third and fifth innings and tacked on another in the seventh to pull away.
Braiden Reynolds led the Artichokes with two hits and drove in the team's lone run, while Dylan Frank doubled and scored the lone run. Carson Feddema, Luke Calendo, Ryder Florence, Braedan Reichert and Brylen Brown each added a hit.
Andrew Filimoehala (6-4) took the loss, allowing five runs (two earned) over 3.0 innings. Luke Patterson, Christian Arellano and Hudson Harrison combined for 5.0 innings of relief.
The Artichokes, who have already clinched a Region playoff spot, will look to wrap up a hosting position when they travel to Phoenix College to face PC tomorrow, April 22. First pitch is 3 p.m.
