Baseball scores 17 in rout of PC

Scottsdale exploded for 17 runs on 18 hits to power past Phoenix College, 17-7 at PC.

The Artichokes (30-23, 22-17) set the tone early, plating runs in each of the first five innings before breaking the game open with a five-run sixth and four more in the seventh.

Carson Feddema led the offensive surge, going 5-for-6 with four RBIs, while Dennis Gregory matched him with four RBIs of his own. Brevin Matthews added three RBIs, and six different Scottsdale players recorded multi-hit games. Will Salihar scored three times and stole two bases.

Braden Burness (4-6) earned the win, striking out six over 4.2 innings. Logan Spetz provided solid relief to close it out.

With the win, SCC has officially clinched the second seed in the upcoming Region I tournament.

Scottsdale will wrap up its regular season on Friday, April 24 with a game at Gateway. First pitch is 3 p.m.
